I'm bad at this

I've kept wanting to write something up but I've been waiting for pictures but those are at home. I don't blog from home because by the time the kids are asleep I want to go to bed too.  I guess that can be the topic for this blog. Why is it that normal kids go to bed at 7:30 and parents have a couple hours to unwind before heading to bed around ten? Not around here. Mia is pretty good, she's asleep as soon as she showers and relaxes. Not Nico. Even if all the lights are out by 8, he's not going to sleep before 9, sometimes 10. By the time it's almost 10, I like to go to bed and watch something off the DVR before falling asleep. The good news is Nico will sleep in a little in the mornings while Mia is up and at 'em by 6:30 (except on school days of course). In other I'm a great mom news, Nico had chocolate chip cookies for breakfast today. We are out of bread, raisin bread, waffles and I woke up late so the only option was cookies. Oh well. FIrst Crush

I think Nico has a crush. Mia has a friend from school that lives a few houses down. Sydney comes over a couple times a week and has spent the night before. Whenever she comes over he hangs out and plays with the girls. Well yesterday Nico kept asking for Sydney. She couldn't come over that day and Mia was playing with the neighbor girl behind us. We could see them playing in the yard and Nico kept calling for "sister" and Sydney. I tried telling him that wasn't Sydney and she couldn't play. He continued to follow me around the house asking for Sydney and crying when I would tell him no Sydney today. I think he also missed his sister. As soon as she came back home he stopped asking for Sydney. I guess he just wants a buddy around.



In other news we FINALLY bought our own camera. For years I have used MIL's camera since Mia and Nico were the only grand kids. Well since little Emily showed up the camera has been in Dallas with Emily. Even when it's in PF, it's at the IL's house so I never really used it to capture the kids day to day. I use my Iphone A LOT for picture and we finally decided that we should have pictures that are not from a phone. Hopefully I'll be adding more pictures to the blog. That is as soon as I figure out how to use it. It's not a DSLR but it still has options I don't really understand.

Thursday WW Check In

Not much to report. I've gained .8 lb. I don't know how I possibly manage to gain weight constantly. I have to be truthful and admit that I haven't really tried. So far these check-ins are not working. I will not quit. Or should I say I won't quit trying to start. I know once I get on the WW bandwagon it'll work but it's hard climbing on that damn wagon.

Spring Break 2010!!

I was away from the computer last week since I was on Spring Break. Spring Break is now very different than it was 10-15 years ago. When I'm away from work I tend not to get on any computer and only access internet via my Iphone. I have an issue with my Iphone dependency. This past week was nice. Mia and Nicolas welcomed their new cousin Emily Isabella on Wednesday. A St. Patrick's baby. Mia is calling Emily her sister. I explained she is her cousin but she says she likes sister better. That'll work. I've been very close to my cousins so I hope Mia will be too. We also found out that Nico would need to have tunes and his adenoids removed. The Dr. Bryarly told us he was suffering some hearing loss and still had fluid behind his right ear. Surgery was scheduled for this past Monday and everything went well. He HATES the ear drops. We are noticing a difference in his hearing already. At McDonalds he covered his ears when they turned on the blender and he covered his ears. He had never done that. His speech should become a little more clear as well, which is good because he talks ALL the time. Here is a picture of Mia with her sister/cousin Emily.

Weight Loss Check in

I have joined Weight Watchers (again). I was successful with it before I had Nico so I hope to be successful again. I've started WW a couple times this year but have not stuck with it. The key for me is to track my points, which is basically keeping a food diary. I also eat out for lunch a lot and that needs to stop. I had my weigh in yesterday and will go again next Thursday. Next week I will post my progress, good or bad.

Here's a Nico story. We have a potty for him that we put stickers on when he pees in the potty. He wanted a sticker but he had not peed in the potty so I told him no. Well not letting that get in his way he decided to pull of a sticker that was already on there and put it back on. I put him in the bath and he proceeded to pee on my hand while I was washing him. Nice.

Needed to Add

I took Mia into school today because she thought I needed to sign something with her teacher. As we walked in I asked her to hold my hand and she said "not now mom." Really? We're starting this phase already? She's only in first grade. She has also told me "no kisses today" as she is getting out of the car. Not looking forward to this.

Reason number 235465848 why I love our daycare

Nico is in the same home daycare that Mia went to. She was there since age one and didn't leave until she started kindergarten. I am extremely lucky to have found a home daycare that is so awesome. One of the best things about it, is that I get emails everyday with their daily activities AND a picture. I look forward to seeing the email in my inbox everyday after lunch. Here is todays awesome picture. Nicolas is 2 years, 1 month old.

Day One

This is officially my first blog post. The idea is keep track of things the kids do so I don't forge them. I'm really forgetful so I would like to be able to remember the kids firsts or funny things they do together.
